Verkouteren was a publisher and bookseller in Bergen-op-Zoom (Brabant), who married Goverdina Jacoba Straatman, the daughter of the arms manufacturer Straatman, November 4, 1830. J. C. Verkouteren was a second-generation printer, the son of Jacques Verkouteren (also spelled van Kouteren) “imprimeur de ville.” Some slight soiling, fold creases, a few slight marginal tears.
