An albumen print, 19 cm x 23 cm.  On the verso is another albumen photograph, Hornelen Seet fra Nord (“Hornelen, Seen from the North”) 13.5 cm x 18 cm) by K. Knudsen, Bergen, number 3171, circa 1870, signed in the plate.

Axel Lindahl, Aalesund, Udsigt fra Akslen, (“Aalesund, View from Akslen”), number 2030, circa 1870. Photograph by Axel Lindahl, title and photographer’s name in the plate. An albumen print, 19 cm x 23 cm.  On the verso is another albumen photograph, Hornelen Seet fra Nord (“Hornelen, Seen from the North”) 13.5 cm x 18 cm), circa 1870,  by K. Knudsen, Bergen, number 3171, signed in the plate. Both are mounted on a leaf from an album. Both images are in fine condition. Axel Lindahl (1841-1906) was a pioneering Swedish photographer, known for his landscape images of Norway. Knud Knudsen (1832-1915) was a pioneering Norwegian photographer, whose images document his native country’s ethnology and history.
