The O.N.D. was an Italian fascist era organization created in 1925 by Mussolini to satisfy the Fascist unions’ demands for an organization to structure the free time of workers, for their spiritual and physical well-being, specifically, an organization to compete with the rival socialists, who had established their own similar cultural organizations to structure the leisure time of workers. In April 1927, the O.N.D. came under the direct control of the Italian Fascist Party, thus becoming an instrument of political penetration under the direct control of the head of the Italian government.

L’O.N.D. era un’organizzazione di epoca fascista italiana creata nel 1925 da Mussolini per soddisfare le richieste dei sindacati fascisti di un’organizzazione per strutturare il tempo libero dei lavoratori, per il loro benessere spirituale e fisico, in particolare, un’organizzazione per competere con i socialisti rivali, che avevano istituito le proprie organizzazioni culturali simili per strutturare il tempo libero dei lavoratori. Nell’aprile 1927, l’O.N.D. entrò sotto il diretto controllo del Partito Fascista Italiano, diventando così uno strumento di penetrazione politica sotto il diretto controllo del capo del governo italiano.
