Postcard, used, stamped and postmarked November 23, 1908, with a thirteen-star American flag postmark from Ottawa, Illinois to Sheridan, Illinois, addressed to Miss Ethel Cody, with the hand-written message from Alice E.: “Best Thanksgiving wishes from Alice E.” Stamped with the one-cent issue of February 3, 1903. The portrait of Franklin is in green, on each side of him is a child’s figure, nude, except for flowing drapery about the loins, holding aloft in the corners of the stamp an electric-light bulb. The bottom left-hand corner of the stamp has slight paper loss. The colored postcard was printed in Germany, with two embossed turkeys taking flight, with the message, “Thanksgiving Greetings.”
