Paris : Sevin et Rey, Libraires, 1901. viii ; 100 colored illustrations of Steinlen’s magazine illustrations, with captions. 20cm, leather spine on marbled boards, top page edge gilt. Heavy paper browning but solid, printed on recto only. Believed to be the second edition, with the original illustrated wrapper bound in. This copy was signed by Henry Davidoff. Steinlen (1859 – 1923) was born in la Suisse Romande and attended university in Lausanne, before taking a job in France as a graphic designer, which he left to become an independent artist in Paris.
