This copy belonged to Mary Dickson 1826 and has her embossed name and date inside the wallet binding in folding black Morocco leather.
A manuscript note was added by Mary Isabella Dickson (1880-1966): “This Bible was bought by my great grandfather George Dickson from ‘Robbie’ Reid, General Merchant for 9/-. Robbie took it to Edinburgh to get the name stamped on it (1/6). It was then presented to my Grand Aunt Mary, & given to me by her to me 1887.” Mary Isabella Dickson became Mary Dickson Menzies, the mother of the Princeton photographer-historian, Elizabeth (“Betty”) G.C. Menzies, the first woman photographer at Princeton University.

[931 pages; p. 932 is a “Table of Scriptural Measures,”; p. 933, “A Table of Weights and Money,”; pp 934-5, “A Table of Time” and “ A Table of Offices and Conditions of Men”; p. 936, “A Table of Kindred and Affinity.”] Title pages for the Old and New Testaments, as well as “The Psalms of David in Metre” and “Translations and Paraphrases in Verse of Several Passages of Sacred Scripture” (19 pp). This copy belonged to Mary Dickson 1826 and has her embossed name and date inside the wallet binding in folding black Morocco leather.
