Four pieces of ephemera, counting the envelope. A social networking mechanism for gay men in the pre-Stonewall era was to belong to a “physique photo collectors club,” for a fee of $2.00, a man could add his name to a list of men who shared his interests. The 42 members of this list were all over the United States, here’s a sampling of places: Homedale, Idaho; Hickory, N.C.; Ishpewing [sic Ishpeming], Michigan.
