It appears in this copy only as the hand-colored frontispiece. 25 cm. 8vo. This third edition has the biographical “Memoir of Nimrod,” the introductory thirteen pages preceding Part I. Original green, gilt-stamped cloth, front cover and spine, gilt page edges all around. Leather book plate of Herschel V. Jones, publisher of the Minneapolis Journal, and a Grolier Club member at the time of his death in 1928. There is a pencil annotation under the book plate. Original bookseller’s tag partially removed. A magnificent, pristine copy with superb hand-coloring. Still housed in its red cloth, hard slip case with a repaired chemise.
