Venice, Ceneda. An obsequious manuscript letter in Italian, with a post-marked envelope, dated May 19, 1796. A signed letter from Bernardo Bembo, who addresses a matter in oblique terms which he cannot address in public, but affirms his obedience to the presiding bishop and also affirms his compliance with some sort of census he was asked to do, including a monetary accounting, the number of arts, painters and other universal bodies which use space in “this Ghetto,” Ceneda.
