Dickson, Jennie H. Hand-painted linen loose-leaf stationery binder over paper boards, 23.5 cm x 18 cm, hand-sewn, dated with an ink stamp on the inside back cover, Edinburgh, March 1899. Jennie H. Dickson was the daughter of the well-known Edinburgh physician George Dickson, also known as a leader in the Masonic community. Dr. George Dickson graduated with honors from the University of Aberdeen in 1864 and was listed in the Medical Directory from 1864 to 1909, living at 9 India Street, Edinburgh. Jennie Dickson was a talented artist and designer, known for her book plate designs and watercolors. This linen binder in initialed by her on the lower right-hand corner, “J.H.D.”
