Journée de timbre 1946 over-stamped 24 Avr[il] 1947. (Postcard commemorating the first airmail connection by flying boat — clipper– from Paris to Tananarive in 48 hours.) Sent airmail to Athens, Greece on the first day of issue from Tananarive. With post office fee annotations, stamped on both sides and with a special service request label from Tananarive. With the blue silhouette of France in the upper left-hand corner and Madagascar silhouetted in orange with a blue plane in flight pointing towards Madagascar, with blue and orange lettering. The signed message reads: “Avec meillures voeux pour la fête.” Good condition. 10 cm x 15 cm
