Archive of German-Jewish Military Doctor 1890 – 1930, Chiefly Photography with Ephemera Relating to Dr. Adolf Marcuse’s Life in Germany and in Exile after the Rise of Fascism. More than 60 images relate to his work on the Western Front during World War I. Some 200 additional images document his social and family circles. Correspondence includes a long, detailed letter from his nephew, about his efforts to escape from friendly Holland to the United States possibly with the assistance of Albert Einstein. Miscellaneous ephemera include theatrical and musical broadsides as well as ephemera from the occupied zones. Detailed description available on request.
