The personal copy of photographer Elizabeth G. C. Menzies, the first official woman photographer at Princeton University, where these rowing trials were held on Lake Carnegie, with her pencil notations of times and other events as they transpired. Sold with her photograph of John B. Kelly, Gold Medalist at Antwerp in 1920 for single scull with the time 7:35, with his son at Princeton, just after John B. Kelly, Jr. qualified with the time of 7:20 on July 10, 1948. John Brendan Kelly, Jr. went on to win an Olympic gold medal in Amsterdam in 1949 and gold medals in 1955, 1959 in the Pan American Games. He also served as the President of the United States Olympic Committee. Both photograph and booklet near fine. Photograph with photographer’s stamp.
